why walk
when you can dance
Recreational
Children aged 3 and up may take classes in ballet, and older children and teens will find classes in Ballet, Acro, Modern-Jazz, Character, Contemporary, and Choreography. Creative Movement is available for parents and children aged 2 to 5, and adult classes are also offered.
Exam Preparation / Vocational
Students prepare for exams with the Royal Academy of Dance, The Canadian Dance Teachers Association, and International Association of Dance Teachers. Pre-Primary and Primary students may take just one class a week, with some extra classes just before their exams. For Grades One to Four, two classes a week are necessary. A minimum of three classes per week are required for grades five to eight, and at least four technique classes per week for vocational exams.
Student Teaching
Students aged twelve and over may be able to assist with classes. For dedicated, students this may lead to a teaching position, and the CDTA Associate Teaching qualification.
Pre-Professional Classical Ballet Grade 12 Credit
We are pleased to be among a select group of dance schools in Nova Scotia approved to offer this grade 12 high school credit in conjunction with Dance Nova Scotia. This allows our students to receive recognition for their hard work and dedication in dance.
